In the purpose to organize SME Server development here are some directives to follow:
Before working on a new release, a roadmap must be written:
- pointing the main new features
- showing each release and goals for them before they get released (no dates needed)
- the official addons that will need to be ready for the main release
Before releasing any version or subversion, docteam must have already written:
- the announcement
- the release notes
- the change log
Before releasing any main version
- Review/verify known fixable bugs from bug tracker are fixed
- Bring all e-smith packages into line with latest mitel packages
- Bring packages into line with the latest fedoralegacy packages when possible
- Existing locale must have been written for the server and the addons
- addons listed in the road map must be ready to work with it
